Deleted only for you

Ask for a relevant copy

Ask the participant to share messages that remain visible to them. They can forward a fragment, take a screenshot or export available history. There is no need to log in to their account; ask only for the data relevant to your request.

Deleted for both participants

Check independent copies

Look for previous exports, screenshots, forwarded messages and saved attachments. Another device signed in to the same cloud account is not a guaranteed backup: deletion can sync across devices too.

The other person deleted the chat

A deletion event does not reveal the content

You can check information that reached you and was saved before deletion. Do not infer the original text or the actor responsible from a missing conversation alone. Available events may not identify every action reliably.

Where a saving bot fits

Access to a copy, not reversal

Proof X works with data received in connected chats. It does not undo another participant’s action or promise to restore the entire conversation after a history clear. Configure saving before you need the copy.

Your questions

Frequently asked questions

Can I tell who deleted the whole conversation?

Not reliably from disappearance alone. Available events do not always establish the actor or action type.

Does deleting for everyone remove my screenshot?

A separately saved file is not the original message in the conversation.

Can I recover it without entering the other account?

Check your own available copies or ask the participant to share theirs voluntarily.

Sources and limitations

Technical guidance is based on documentation. Menu names may differ in your app version. Proof X descriptions are based on project materials; saving coverage depends on data actually received.

Want to save future messages?

Proof X works with data received after connection. Review its capabilities and limits first.
